Julie Plyler is special counsel in the firm’s capital markets practice, advising companies in industries such as life sciences and financial services—as well as underwriters and investors—through the full lifecycle of securities and financing transactions.

She helps companies access the capital markets strategically and efficiently, guiding them through initial public offerings, follow on offerings, private placements, and transactions involving reverse merger structures.

Julie's practice also includes advising public companies on ongoing securities law compliance, including SEC reporting, proxy and Section 16 filings, corporate governance, and other disclosure and compliance matters. Clients value her ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance that mitigates risk and keeps transactions moving.

In addition to her transactional work, Julie maintains an active pro bono practice, with a focus on assisting nonprofit organizations with corporate formation and governance matters.

With innovation comes regulatory scrutiny. On December 9, 2025, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc. (“FINRA”) released its 2026 Annual Regulatory Oversight Report (the “2026 Report”), which includes a new section dedicated to generative artificial intelligence (“GenAI”).
