Sebastian Marotta is a corporate associate in the firm’s Washington, DC office. His practice covers a broad range of transactional and corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, corporate governance, and security advisory matters.

Sebastian represents a variety of corporate clients, with particular experience in the financial services, life sciences, and technology industries.

Sebastian’s recent pro bono work includes advising multiple nonprofit corporations on corporate law matters, representing two children as Guardian ad Litem in family court, and advising CFBanc Corporation on its merger of equals with Broadway Financial Corporation to create the largest Black-led Minority Depository Institution in the United States.

The rapid spread of COVID-19, along with the effectiveness of existing public health response plans and the impacts of social distancing on the economy, have raised the question of how new technology can be used to address and manage the pandemic. On April 1, 2020, the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence hosted “COVID-19 and AI: A Virtual Conference” to explore the potential applications of artificial intelligence (“AI”) in diagnostics and treatment, epidemiological tracking and forecasting of the spread of COVID-19, and the pandemic’s impacts on the economy, culture, and human behavior.
